UPA’s Report Card

Is it too early to give a report card on the performance of the UPA non-government for its entire term? I’m not talking about the secularly-certified report cards and approval ratings that the media gives year after year to the UPA. It’s the report card of two broad categories of people. The aam aadmi and the class of people who were reprimanded by our Prime Minister "to cut down on their spending."

This report card is way before the actual examinations slated to occur within a year. Not that it’ll matter to the UPA. If the 2009 verdict throws up enough numbers on the side of the crooks, we’ll have another UPA.

The report card begins with the Congress party’s delusion that the aam aadmi slogan really worked. Four years down, nobody remembers NREGs, nobody cares about the choke-taxes–does anybody know where the education cess money went to?–and perhaps the greatest state-sponsored loot of all time–SEZ. The net result is uncontrollable inflation. However, all these fade to nothingness when you look at what the UPA has managed in just about a year.

From its sinister obstinacy over the nuclear deal to its practice of pornographic politics to its bend-over stance on national security to its slaughter-the-society school of justice to its members who revel in consuming ever-increasing quantities of muck everyday, the UPA has achieved in a year what the Congress party attempted to achieve for about five decades.

So here’s the report card.

If India Shining didn’t quite shine, Aam Aadmi took out the fuse.
